Campaign for modern endodontic diagnostics of the Center for Imaging Diagnostics MLADOST
On February 9 – World Dentist’s Day, Center for Imaging Diagnostics MLADOST – Varna launched a campaign entitled “Every tooth counts.“ The event is traditional and this year the focus is on root (endodontic) treatment and the process of its initial, current and control diagnosis. The initiative lasts for one month – until March 9, 2021 and provides for a 50% discount on the price of diagnostic root treatment package. The package is the latest service in the range of dental imaging and includes 3D scanning and 3 control sector photos, and depending on the scope of scanning and after applying the discount, there are three options:
- 3D scanning of a segment of the jaw + 3 sector photos – at a promotional price of BGN 40.
- 3D scanning of one jaw + 3 sector photos – at a promotional price of BGN 55.
- 3D scanning of two jaws + 3 sector photos – at a promotional price of BGN 80.
Despite the rapid development of dentistry, it is still not uncommon to remove “inescapable” teeth instead of treating and preserving them. Fortunately, there are more and more dentists who do not hesitate to take up the challenge of root canal treatment. It is most often reached when the caries is deep and has reached the pulp of the tooth. At this stage, it must be removed, and then the crown cavity and dental canals must be filled and sealed. The procedure is also known as “tooth killing”.
For the proper conduct of treatment it is important to be able to accurately determine the shape, size and orientation of the tooth roots in space . Unfortunately, the widely used sectoral dental images are not informative enough in this regard. This makes it difficult for the dentist, prolongs the procedures and calls into question the ultimate success of the treatment.
To avoid potential problems, the optimal approach is by 3D scanning of the affected area. Three-dimensional images give a complete spatial picture of the dental canals, which has an invaluable informational role in treatment planning. Sectoral dental images, on the other hand, are perfectly suitable for tracking the progress and effectiveness of the root canal and crown filling procedure after pulp removal.
When treating a particular tooth, it is sufficient to scan only the segment of the jaw that covers it. Very often, however, the problem teeth are more than one and are located on both jaws. In these cases, extended versions of the Root Treatment package, based on a 3D scan of the entire jaw, are recommended.
modern dental 3D scanner – Hyperion X9 Pro of the Italian company MyRay – is installed in the Center for Imaging Diagnostics MLADOST . It is the latest generation CBCT device (Conical-beam computed tomography), which offers extremely high image quality. Moreover, our device has the largest field of scanning, which makes it possible to fully and qualitatively cover the jaw of even large patients.
The scanner automatically identifies the patient’s anthropology, adjusts the exposure settings and all the parameters needed to ensure an accurate X-ray image. The other great advantage of this technology is that the radiation is extremely low and comparable to a standard X-ray, although a 3D image is reconstructed.
Good initial diagnosis is of great importance for the outcome of treatment, and every tooth matters!
